Patsy Shields

 

 

Patsy Shields joins us again and holds the title of “Most Requested Educator”. Patsy has been with us for 5 events and each time her classes are a big hit!  Patsy began working in the sewing industry in 1983 with a major sewing machine company.  Since that time she has also done Sew Better Seminars through Chilton Book Co., pants fitting and blazer construction seminars, Sew Exciting Seminars with Sulky of America and is currently working with Floriani Stabilizers and Walter Floriani, a 5th generation embroiderer.  Patsy travels presenting educational seminars, one and two day serger workshops for groups and embellishing techniques, is a certified “Cotton Theory” quilting  instructor, and also teaches at various Embroidery Retreats.  Patsy has written articles for several publications, including Sew News, Sulky of America publications, Sew Fancy by Martha Pullen, Creative Machine Embroidery, Sewing Savvy, Round Bobbin Embroidery and Quilting Professional publications and has been mentioned in Serger Update Newsletter, Know Your Baby Lock, by Chilton, and several others. She also has her own video on Ribbon Embroidery by Machine.  Patsy has appeared on “Quilting in the Heartland” with Sharlene Jorgenson, “Creative Living” with Sheryl Borden, and on “Sew Perfect” with Sandra Betzina.  Patsy will educate and inspire you to have fun with your sewing machine.

Cindy Losekamp

If you missed her visit the first time, you won’t want to miss Cindy Losekamp this time.  Cindy is the creator of several Signature Series embroidery disks for Cactus Punch and along with that, Cindy is CEO of her own company, Sew Artfully Yours, Inc.  Cindy’s skills take machine embroidery to new heights in creativity, along with embroidery she is also the creator of a myriad of other machine techniques.  As an instructor, Cindy is fun and enlightening and gives her classes in step-by-step form, which make them easy to follow and understand.  She encourages and inspires you to develop your individual creativity, so much in fact; she has been blamed for many sleepless nights by her students after seeing her inspiring seminars. Cindy is the designer and author of thirty-one books.  She has been teaching and inspiring people to sew and create for twenty-one years.  Cindy is a master of machine stitch manipulation and encourages to transcend to a higher level of creativity.  We are sure you will enjoy her enthusiasm and talent.

Jodi Barrows

Jodi Barrows will join us for the first time.  Jodi is a nationally known quilting teacher, speaker and writer, currently living in the North Texas area.  Over the past twenty years, Jodi has remarkably touched thousands of quilters throughout the world with her unique method called Square in a Square?.  Her point of view provides the quilter with the freedom to create most any quilt design with speed and accuracy.  Jodi has spoken to quilting audiences throughout the United States and Canada and Australia.   She has appeared as a guest on several quilting shows, including TNN’s Aleene’s Creative Living; TNN’s Your Home Studio; Perfect Patchwork on Family Net TV and PBS series with Kaye Wood.  HGTV has shown her commercial on the quilting techniques she has developed on the Simply Quilts Show.  The Square in a Square is a process that anyone can implement in most any design.  Jodi has written fourteen books, produced four tools, two video/DVD’s and five teacher’s books.  Additionally, she has a pattern book and fabric line based on a fiction novel she wrote from the 1865 time period entitled Leaving Riverton.  Jodi has been commissioned to compose quilts for many state and national organizations as well as working with the Kansas Historical Society.  She has been active in guilds as well as owning several crafting and sewing related businesses over the years.

Walter Floriani


 

 

Walter Floriani brings his talents to us again, as well.  Walter is the fifth generation of the “Floriani Embroidery Legacy”.  He is know as “The Embroidery Guru”.  Walter Floriani is a world renowned embroidery creator, production specialist, consultant, educator, speaker, author and entrepreneur.  His families’ history spans back to the beginning of the mechanized embroidery process.  His knowledge of mechanized embroidery is only overwhelmed by his love of his family history and the sharing of their embroidery knowledge.  He and his wife and partner, Sherri, have owned and operated the family business since 1981.  The Floriani Family of products include “Floriani Favorites” embroidery designs, the Floriani United Network for Embroidery Education (FUNclub), as well as their newest venture, in partnership with RNK Distributing, in the creation of a new line of stabilizers and threads created specifically for the embroidery process. Creating and education that produce the hightest level of quality embroidery is the main focus of the Floriani Family Business.
